I'll concede, I've been somewhat persuaded. It would have been nice to hear the board respond to some of the points, as they may have information that rebuts or clarifies, but I think I'm now convinced that, at a minimum, there hasn't been enough substantive analysis of the big picture, including planned housing developments, traffic patterns, etc.

I could be wrong - maybe the Board has a whole bunch of non-public information supporting H, but today I heard a lot of good questions that I haven't heard actual answers to.

If a decision has to be made in the next month, I suspect the Board will kick the can - propose using Crown as a holding school while Damascus is renovated then revisit in 2-3 years to decide what to do long-term. But, who knows?[/quote]

I could not agree with you more. It’s nice to see the usual aggressive crew a bit calmer and more reasonable except, yes, the last one. She had something different in her Wheaties yesterday.

I drove by Crown yesterday - it is odd how close it is to the street and to the homes facing it. I feel bad for the homeowners who purchased it before school construction started (did they?)? The wall they face is so ugly and it is CLOSE - that’s going to be very noisy. That whole neighborhood is tight, really. More so than Kentlands. They have the same 1-lane roads in and out of there as Wootton parkway - that traffic will be a nightmare. [/quote]

third person here just to agree with this PP. I am the Pro H Cold Spring, Cabin John, Wootton cluster parent and hearing the testimony yesterday did give me a bit of pause. The Magruder parents make valid points. Not sure what the best option is besides H but definitely understand the frustrations of the Magruder parents. [/quote]

This was all started because Wootton said their building was unsafe.  This was the easiest solution.  They should let Wootton stay, kick out all the students who don't get 1400 SAT and all' A's with a few B's to preserve its reputation and put them at the end of the repair line.[/quote]
