Maxwell had a practically royal privileged life until her father died when it was discovered that he had been misappropriating funds from the pension fund.  Her privileged life had an abrupt end.  She hooked up with Epstein and she would do whatever he wanted so she could continue the life she to which she was accustomed.

I doubt this was a difficult decision.  There is a story about a dinner party at her house in London where the after dinner entertainment was to blindfold the men and the women were to remove all clothes from the waist up and the men were to guess who each woman was by fondling their breasts!
