No one thinks Justin is a saint, people are defending him because he's being accused of career-ending allegations. Why don't the "neutral" people or pro-Blake people seem to get? Imagine your loved one was accused of rape when the evidence heavily suggests they weren't. Someone deciding to be mealy-mouthed by saying, "the accused and the accuser are both bad" does not make them nuanced. It is so disturbing that Justin actually fits the mold of the "imperfect victim," not Blake.
He's not accused of rape. He's accused of calling actresses sexy on set, pressuring Blake to do a birth scene with simulated nudity without her prior consent or the involvement of an IC, adding intimate content to the script without consent of actors, talking about his past sexual history (including having sex with women without their consent) in ways that made Blake uncomfortable, etc. He's also accused of hiring a crisis PR team to attack BL online. The question is not really even whether he did these things -- admits to most of them, and there is eyewitness testimony to others. The question is whether this behavior rises to the level SH and retaliation for SH. His defense is that these actions have been exaggerated or taken out if context, not that they didn't happen. Well how do you decide if this was SH or if, I'm context, these were understandable or appropriate behaviors? Court case. So here we are. Is it subjective? Yes. And I'm open to the possibility that a court or jury could deem this not SH. But this idea that JB has been unfairly attacked with false accusations has always struck me as bizarre -- he admitted to the vast majority of the allegations in that timeline he published early on. These are not invented allegations and to the degree these details are embarrassing for him, it's because of his own behavior, not a lie Blake is telling. Plus we now know she wasn't the only one on set who felt uncomfortable. That tells us something about that set. Comparing this to a loved one being falsely accused of rape is crazy. It's not like that at all. Who is exaggerating and ignoring important content now?
He’s been unfairly attacked with false accusations because so much of what Blake and the nyt said has been proven untrue. People who are saying it’s undisputed “these things happened” should watch the tv show disclaimer with Cate Blanchett. It’s a master class in how the same set of events can be spun to make the victim look like the abuser. So many of the “things that happened” did not happen like Blake said. It started with the dance video and now we have two videos proving Blake lied. It seems like her lawyers have dropped that allegation completely. The birthing scene that she continues to call porn. The so-called improvised kissing that she’s been caught doing. The sexy comment that she’s also been caught doing. A conversation about circumcising a baby being spun repeatedly by Blake’s lawyers as “Justin talking about his genitalia.” Her lawyers have also spun the narrative that there are “10 women” including Stephanie Jones and Colleen Hoover who have never accused Justin of harassment. This is a smear campaign against Justin and Blake supporters are complicit.
