The split at wolftrap should not have been a priority as it was an almost even split. But Kilmer needed help.
The change to middle school AAP will help Kilmer and the capacity information being used at Kilmer is suspect at best. Agree, the Wolftrap changes are unnecessary and should not occur.
What does Madison’s enrollment look like if they undo the Wolftrap and Westbriar changes? I think it ends up under 2100 at a school recently expanded to 2500.
If only there were some Thoreau/Marshall students from Stenwood and Cunningham Park who could utilize Madison’s new capacity without putting more stress on Thoreau MS projected enrollment. But to answer your question, if you take out the Wolftrap/Marshall kids, Madison would only gain 16 students from Vienna ES and stay at 88%
What hideous planning expanded Madison that much? Marshall renovation wasn't that far before Madison - why wasn't that correctly sized? When they do these renovations or school purchases they need to be specific on why - capacity needs within existing boundaries or expansion of boundaries.
