New ep is meh. Really don’t like Carrie giving up her apartment, but I suppose she’ll sell or rent to Lisette. The new apt is OTT. If Rosemarie DeWitte is playing Aidan’s ex, no way is it a one-minute one-off.
Carrie really doesn’t seem like the Gramercy Park type, and neither does Aidan. Agree Lisette will be in the apartment until Carrie inevitably moves back in. I really hate the Aidan storyline, so obviously rushed and headed for disaster ugh.
Ok, prediction for finale: Aidan has a troubled son, who starts acting out, ends up in crisis, and he has to choose between his family and Carrie (obvious choice). While he is struggling and torn, Carrie is in pain reaches out to Samantha, who bestows upon her whatever words of wisdom. They break up, amicably. But where will Carrie live??
Nailed it! But not sure if Samantha phone call will be about Aidan or the end-of-the-era apartment goodbye. I know KC and SJP don’t want to be in the same room but no way RL Samantha would have missed the big goodbye dinner. She would gave hopped on a plane for sure.
Yes, it was more intense than I expected. Shocking, actually. Obviously Aidan is going to have put the kibosh on the NYC trips and it would be awkward for Carrie to spend too much time in "Norfolk" with a troubled kid who hates her. Pretty obvious outcome here, but they'll leave open Caidan as the end game for the finale.
It had to be intense for it to be believable that Aidan would break up with her when he pined for her for so long.
Agree. As some of us have been saying, it will be amicable but very sad.
I wonder if writers will succeed in making her dating life interesting after this. The pre-Aidan scene when Naya and Seema were being hit on at a bar and Carrie pulled out her book was pretty funny.
It’s just annoying that they brought Aiden back for things to end again. I ge that this is an opportunity for them to end on good terms, but it feels inauthentic to what actually happened between Carrie and Aiden. He was perfect on paper, but she couldn’t imagine her future with him. She tried and failed several times. That was real. That was what I loved about the original sex and the city. To now repaint their relationship as a missed opportunity feels disingenuous. At best, it’s only possible for their relationship to work now because of where they both are in life- there is no big compare to Aiden, and Aiden has done the traditional marriage, kids, and moving out of the city things he wanted to do. The show has done a poor job painting the picture of why Carrie and Aiden would actually work as a couple now, and instead it just feels like fan-fare and opp to draw viewers in. For them to now end the relationship based on external circumstances feels like a cop out. But I guess no one wants to see “married and the city” especially since the whole point of Carrie and aidens relationship is how conventional it is.
It's possible they wouldn't work as a couple now - but they won't even really get the chance to try. They are in a bubble of newness and excitement, but real life is bearing down.
