that's not at all how I understand it to be.

1) they were drunk

2) they vandalized property - illegal around the globe btw even if it was in the slums of Rio

3) they were caught on surveillance and caught coming out of the gas station bathroom they vandalized - and were stopped, and guns were used to make sure that they complied.

The surveillance doesn't seem to show they actually vandalized anything.

And I'm sorry, but holding someone at gunpoint and demanding their money is robbery, EVEN IF they committed a crime. It might be a mitigating factor were it tried in court, but two rights don't make a wrong.

And yes, I get that that is "how things are done" in Brazil but that speaks to the corruption and lawlessness there, nothing more and nothing less. [/quote]
