[/quote] LOL I don't think you know what the odds are of getting through a PhD, then getting hired, then getting tenure. In fact, the odds are so vanishingly small that you'd have to be stupid to go down that road without attending the most prestigious possible schools. Otherwise you are almost certainly wasting your time and money. Yeah, go ahead, cite the few exceptions... but for every exception there are HUNDREDS of people with PhDs who never got hired to the tenure track.[/quote]
