guilty working moms who don't care that SAHMs are actually looking out for your kids. working moms who will hire an illegal nanny whose language they don't know just so that little Timmy knows Spanish. Let's hope little Timmy never has a medical emergency that would require the nanny to describe the symptoms. SAHMs who keep saying everything is organic. Stop it already, my child won't die if he eats non-organic food. and in regards to sharing? Nope, my child won't need to share HIS toy with your child (especially if my child is 2 and yours is 6) but my child will have to share public or other people's toys. don't tell your child that he/she can have my child's toy. It isn't automatic and I won't beg him to do so. Oh and moms who talk about property value (of course beyond 700k) , about expensive pre-schools and about all the other privileged things your child will experience? : stop dissing me. I am trying to what's best for my child as well, we just don't have the money, alright? last but not least: moms who are in their 40s, don't write me off because I am under 30. I CHOSE to have kids, don't look at me like I am pathetic. I know as much about parenting as you do. Or as little :)
Ummm....how are SAHMs looking out for my child? If you mean they are the ones that volunteer, that is quite a generalization and not at all true. Lots of working parents volunteer and quite frankly, we are also paying a greater share of the "community" costs of public education, fire, police, etc. You don't need to justify your choices by bashing others. And while I don't believe in hiring illegal nannies either for other reasons, the language issue isn't one of them. And since you aren't the most enlightened person here, I'll clue you in to something - 911 is in SPANISH as well. As are most other services!!! The kid will be just fine in an emergency!!
it's funny that you automatically assumed an illegal nanny must be spanish speaking. :) I for myself prefer to be able to communicate with caretakers about how my kids are. Unless all of the moms with nannies who don't speak english know spanish, I don't see that happening. I was not talking about volunteering, but about what a pp before me said: while your nanny happily chats away with her friend, I make sure your kid doesn't hurt himself by falling off the playground equipment. Because I care about not only my own children but other children as well. (after all they can't do anything about the choices adults make, right?) And if you really want to justify your choice to work by saying you are contributing more to society, so be it. I am happy with who I am. And believe it or not, I don't have anything against working moms, after all I will be one at some point as well. :) I just don't appreciate it when people try to tell me I don't care.
