It's because their friendships with him pre-dated their friendships with Jennifer: the Stillers, Kimmels, and Paul Rudd. The Kimmels are the only ones who ended up in her inner circle. She's worked with the others and they were friendly, but not close per se. I don't think Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts attended the wedding, which surprised me. They've known him forever. Maybe they were working. I think Will Arnett and Sean Hayes are closer to JA and the Batemans than Theroux. So there was a relatively clean division of friendships after the split. But she remained friendly with him, so not like friends had to choose even if they may have had their opinions.[/quote]
