It sounds like you do get it. Lots of kids wouldn't be able to meaningfully participate due to a variety of reasons. And summer vacation isn't more important than school.[/quote]

Just because your kid can't handle sitting at a computer for a couple days in January doesn't mean we should add idiotic nothing days after grades are due.  My kid will enjoy his first week of summer.  Your kid can sit in school doing nothing.  Have fun..[/quote]
