But really, the biggest thing is the fact that it does cost more than a billion to run for President.   That's just crazy and goes to show how far out of control the money game in American politics has gotten.

When one guy, like Elon Musk, can personally pump $250 million into an election, that's pure corruption of democracy.

We NEED campaign finance reform.  We NEED hard, strict limits.  Maybe something like $50 per candidate per cycle - and if you want to put $50 into a pac that is then your contribution and you can't contribute to individual candidates.  And maybe we should have all campaign spending flow through a central platform so that it can be tracked, and criminalize any kind of outside spending.[/quote]
