I met a psychologist at a conference many years after the case who had been an expert consultant. She said the mother was molesting her, and Jon Benet would have told her to stop or resisted in some way. Likely she had learned at school that it was inappropriate. The woman said her mom would have felt like it was her arm telling her it wanted to amputate itself.
