This was a good episode, although at 8:30 I was thinking "there's another hour and a half??" Being a "golden" girl, I was ready for bed. I wasn't really surprised by any of the eliminations other than Kim, not because he's right for Joan but because the producers seemed to be giving him lots of air time. Charles L is a treasure. He and Joan are not a romantic match, but I hope he benefits from this experience, has no regrets, and finds what he needs at this time in his life. Chock. I'm not sure about him. I get a weird vibe but it's probably the editing. Are the previews creatively edited or is he leaving? Dan seems a bit fragile. A good guy but again not a match. Gary is similar to Charles L. A treasure but not a romantic match for Joan. Gil. For some reason I forget about him until I look at a picture of the full cast or he has a scene on the show. Guy is a "guy's guy" according to Redditors on The Bachelor subreddit, and I think I agree. He comforted Charles L and sang with Kim when no one else would. He could be a match for Joan. He's handsome and presumably smart and successful (based on his job), which I think are important to Joan. Jonathan. I was surprised he got a one on one date but was touched by his initial response. I don't think he's a good match for Joan due to being in a different phase of life (he has young kids?). Jordan, Keith, and Mark are like Gil: forgettable but for Mark being a bachelor dad. Pascal. Again I was surprised by her selecting him for the one on one date. Does the show decide or strongly influence who gets these dates? On one hand, I thought it was unfortunate that Pascal got that luxury experience, when it seems what he's used to getting, versus one of the other guys who might have truly relished flying private, limo ride, luxury hotel and designer clothes. On the other hand, Joan would get to see Pascal in his element and maybe get a hint of his true nature. He's a diva. Joan. Watching the close up scenes with her and the men there's such a contrast between their natural looking faces and her face. In addition to whatever procedures she has had done, the make up is HEAVY. I assume that's done by the show but it's a lot. I learned that she was a computer programmer which I didn't previously know. She seems to be a smart, accomplished woman and genuinely empathetic. But, she says "like" a LOT and it's distracting because I find myself focusing on that versus the content of what she is saying, which is usually substantive.
