We are "foreign elite" - highly educated immigrants with high HHI. I can tell you that our parenting is changing American parents, I can see it with our American friends. I am talking about very high academic expectations in particular. Like, expectations of excellence in whatever they are doing. Not saying it's the only factor or anything, but there is a real effect there.[/quote]

I posted before saying Dh and I were kids of Asian immigrants.[b] I don’t consider us foreign elite.[/b] We are both ivy educated and have a seven figure income. My oldest is studying for his PSAT/SAT on his own and prepping for his AP classes before school starts with no push from us. I am sure American parents assume we are tiger parents and cracking a whip at home.

Um, yeah? You are just an American. My kids are not "foreign elite" either. You have to have been a foreigner (at least for a while) to a foreigner.[/quote]
