Currently at MV for kindergarten and have been less than satisfied. Thoughts about the following for 1st+? -Marie Reed - Dual (English Dominant): Offered -Stokes Spanish: #2 -Oyster: #9 -Bancroft: #8
It’s very likely to get an offer for Stokes in the upper grades. Also, if you are English dominant you won’t get into Oyster or Bancroft.
+1. We're settled at a bilingual DCPS and not lotterying for DCI feeders anymore, but even with our okay to terrible lottery numbers, we would have gotten Stokes Spanish a few times in elementary. If we had gotten an offer in K we probably would have taken it, and I know a good number of families that switched from MV to Stokes. IMO, MR is a better school than Stokes by a lot, but if you're in Brookland and the commute is significant (traffic around MR is terrible), and you are interested in the DCI feed, then I would consider Stokes.
Why would you say MR is better? Stokes has better test scores and by significant margin in math.
