Then they should encourage their kids to do the best they can academically and then search for colleges that they can afford---there are plenty that offer good merit. But it would be foolish to go into massive debt to get an education. It doesn't have to be that way. But if you can save $100/month start with that, or have your kid start at more affordable CC and then transfer to 4 year. [/quote]
