Trump voters don’t believe that he raped her, let alone defamed her. They think Trump has been railroaded. There’s a strong streak of misogyny and denialism in all voters (see also: all the progressives who insist that Israeli women and girls weren’t viciously violated by Hamas, or supposedly feminist organizations who are silent about the sexual assaults of 10/7). The Trump voter variation of this is that he isn’t a rapist, he was targeted unfairly, his political enemies used the court system to take him down, and you can’t trust what women say about rape anyhow (as noted, this is also a common feature of the left, so don’t get too superior about how much better you are than those deplorables).

As someone who knew Trump was going to win in spring of 2016 and who was begging people to take him seriously on DCUM at the time, this thread is absolutely killing me. [/quote]
