I know there is a separate thread on the book banning, but sharing here as I'd say it's related to Florida's general trend toward fascism w/ regard to education. https://popular.info/p/florida-teachers-told-to-remove-books
DP to add, technically the Bible violates this policy, so will Florida remove all copies from schools? Conservatives on this thread, what's your take? http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=0800-0899/0847/Sections/0847.012.html
Activists are already reporting it and requesting that it be banned https://www.npr.org/2022/04/26/1094740651/florida-man-asks-schools-to-ban-the-bible-following-the-states-efforts-to-remove The resulting court cases should involve some interesting mental contortions
Good. The hypocrisy is ridiculous. I'm still waiting to hear a serious comment from a conservative on this forum. I know they're here. Do you agree or disagree that Florida's law means that the Bible should be banned from schools? If not, why do you make an exception for the Bible (please write out with serious logic not just gaslighting/jokes/changing the topic)?
