Those of you wearing these shorter dresses, do you have young kids and if so, do you wear shorts underneath? I find myself gravitating to more maxi/midi dresses because I have a kid under 5 still and I find it easier to avoid wardrobe malfunctions with a bit more length. Even now, with my 4 year old (who at least doesn't need to be picked up all the time and is a bit more independent than a new walker or even a 3yo), she had an issue with her shoe this morning at drop off that required me to sit down on the playground at school to fix. Stuff like that is impossible in a shorter skirt.

Or do you guys just have babies or older kids where this isn't an issue? Or am I just fussy about it? I think I'm probably more self conscious about my legs than most people.[/quote]

I have a 4yo and a 1yo and I wear shorter dresses in the summer.  I try not to like, squat with my knees apart or anything but if I have to bend over to get something and someone see a little more of my thigh, I'm not that concerned.  I do have thin legs relative to the rest of my body so they're probably the feature I'm least self-conscious of.  I definitely worry more about a low/loose neckline showing off too much boob when I bend down[/quote]

I wear bike shorts underneath.   I find it easier to wrangle kids in a shorter dress than a long one, where I get tangled up getting up and down off the ground. [/quote]
