It seems we're at an impasse about what it means to [i]become[/i] something you aren't already, especially if what you are already is part of your ancestry and/or your genetic makeup.

I'm of the opinion that transgender people don't actually become the gender they identify as, any more than Eddie Redmayne became Stephen Hawking when he portrayed him in The Theory of Everything.[/quote]
