I was in the library today. A sign read "masks strongly encouraged". There were 2 moms with a total of 6 kids ranging from infant to maybe 5 year olds. None in this group wore a mask. At least 3 of the kids were coughing. One of them looked and sounded quite ill. I took my vaccinated, masked self right on out of there.
Yep. This is why I quit my library job and won't go back. whether there is a county mandate or not, now is.nit the time for most people to give up masks. Even pre Covid there were an enormous number of people in this area going places sick or dragging along sick kids. The stupid, it hurts.
Not trying to be snarky- but with this line of thinking, are you willing to work anywhere indoors? Due to covid, tt seems that people now have little to no tolerance for any sickness in society- even a normal amount. Zero illness is not realistic or healthy.
If its not a job you are willing to do, then don't complain if someone quits. You should NOT bring your covid, flu, cold sick kids or yourself into public situations except in an emergency like medication if you cannot get it delivered. Common sense.
NP who works in a job where I interact with lots of people in person all day. Some sneeze, some cough, some wear masks below their noses, some never wear a mask properly. You all are being dramatic and can continue enjoying the luxury of working from home or in an office where you interact with no one. I wear a mask for 45 hours a week at work. I do not want to wear it to go grocery shopping or to run errands. Maybe it’s selfish but your reactions are anxiety driven which is no better.
If you are in a job like that you absolutely need one. It’s not about want. It’s about need.
