How did the shape of his face change so much?
Testosterone. It seems a lot of the public really doesn’t understand what a gigantic difference that hormone makes. Transgender women will never be the same as women in terms of bone density, musculature, size of organs etc. no matter how much estrogen and progesterone they take because the changes testosterone makes are permanent. And transgender men who go on testosterone are very quickly and permanently changed in a way that detransitioning cannot cure.
Wow, that does make a case for starting young if you know you are trans.
No, it does not. Good Lord!
So much misinformation here. Both FTM and MTF trans persons must stay on hormones for life. Why? To maintain. They will eventually reach a dose that their doctor will determine is their maintenance dose, which will be the perfect amount to keep them at the correct level of masculinity/femininity that they, the trans person, desire. There is no optimal level of Masculin or Feminimn that a doctor doses hormones to achieve. It is all totally personal and up to each transitioning person. Of course, I will add that a doctor will not allow a patient to have access to too much hormones, of course. If a trans person stops their hormons, their appearance that has not been altered by any kind of surgery will change back. I have only known one trans person who transitioned with hormones, no surgery, and then years later transitioned back. If the photos of this person as their male self and female self are placed side by side, they look like their own twin. As for trans children going through puberty, that is a very difficult subject with many pros and cons on both sides. I work with the LGBTQ+ community and if I had a trans child right now, I still do not know what I would do regarding transitioning and puberty, it's that difficult.
Yes, there are no unscrupulous doctors and certainly no doctors who are willing to compromise their professional ethics for financial gain!
