He always stated he didn't want a big funeral.
For a senior member of the royal family, a big funeral is a 200,000 person funeral tableau with 2,000+ police deployed to contain crowds. He didn't want that. He did intend for all of his blood relatives, including the Greek ones he hasn't seen in years, to be able to attend. A small funeral in that regard would have been at the very minimum the 100+ relatives, immediate (including great-grandchildren) and distant. Here is Zara and Harry at their great-grandmother's funeral. Also foreign royals like the Kings and Queens of Sweden, Spain, and Norway. The RP will determine what each will do or get based on protocol and money. And always say it’s what the person wanted.
You are quite wrong. Prince Philip planned his funeral and it is known as Operation Forth Bridge. Because of Covid, his body will not be taken to the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace and then to St George’s Chapel for a military style funeral. It will go to St George’s with the planned internment in the royal burial grounds at Frogmore. The remaining question is how the members of the Red Nose Club will honor his death along with is other patronages, charities, and the Royal Navy, particularly Dartmouth.
