this. as a POC i think the outrage/offense taken is a bit racist/Eurocentric.
 Because one Pharaoh did something (very) bad, we can't celebrate the achievements of any of them, or one of the most important early cultures (as a pharaoh is a symbol of early Egyptian culture overall)? So a bad act (i know it lasted a long time) against a group of people who are now mostly considered "white" or "western" outweighs thousands of years of achievement of one of the most important/lauded civilizations in the world, that happens to have been a non-western one, and is rather important to many African-Americans?

This is a really racist comment.  If it was about a POC you would be the first to scream racism, but because it is an issue with Jews, who you are saying are white and privileged the bad things that happened aren't really reverent.  So, slavery is relevant.  However, things like this and the holocaust are not?[/quote]

um, is this response a joke/troll? if not, i think you mean anti-semitic? And no I wouldn't, because it's just trivial, and there are much bigger problems to deal with. I never said privileged. or mentioned slavery, or the holocaust. and i certainly didn't compare them or prioritize one over the other.  You're putting a lot into my statements to create a straw man for you to make some point that isn't relevant to anything anyone is saying. [/quote]
