There's diversity in media, but the examples above are just ridiculous pandering and are thoroughly contrived/lazy attempts at diversity.  How about making up new characters rather than trying to replace those 'white male oppressors'.  Have fund with 007 now as a black female, because these days you can't have an alpha male character who actually sleeps with beautiful women.  He's either gotta be gay/trans or a female, and if he's white it is a double strike.  Gotta replace, replace, replace.   heaven forbid a new black female british spy be called 008 rather than replacing 007.....

In the film, Bond - as played by Daniel Craig - has gone into retirement. Therefore, a new agent is promoted to "license to kill" and receives the 007 identifier. The entire point is that "007" belongs to no singular person forever. In the new movie, Bond has to come out of retirement to help the new "007" agent in her mission.

Daniel Craig - white James Bond - is still the titular and main character in the film.
