Not segregation.... Buy a house in Potomac, go to Potomac schools. Don't buy a house in Potomac, do not go to Potomac schools. I do not think anyone is preventing people from buying in a school boundary.
Schools in Potomac are Montgomery County Public Schools. There is no such thing as the Potomac School District.
Do you work for MCPS? Did you use the same argument in another thread to justify Clarksburg students going to school in Germantown and Germantown students going to school in Clarksburg?
DP. MCPS doesn't categorize "Germantown students" and "Clarksburg students." A student is a student. The "city"/zip code of the student's home does not necessarily match that the "city"/zip code of the school. Nor should it have to. When walking to a school is possible, that should be reflected in the boundary lines, again, regardless of zip code lines. But if students are taking a bus to school no matter what, then whether that bus ride is 3.8 miles to the west or 4.2 miles to the east should definitely be looked at according to all of the factors.
You sure sound like a MCPS spokesperson.
I'm not PP, but it's really bizarre to me that reciting normal, factual information about how countywide school districts work makes people assume you're some kind of paid MCPS plant.
+1 that ^PP is at best ignorant, at worst just plain stupid. Again, this is ONE district, and students are not assigned to schools that have the same zip code as the home.
