You must be new around here.  It used to be an annual occurrence.  Now seems semi annual.

Actually, I grew up around here (going to events at the zoo with my parents) and have been back for about 20 years. None of the links you posted happened at Zoo Lights, and even ignoring that, four incidents of random violence since 2000 is hardly a common enough problem to think you should stay away from the zoo as a result.
