I'm not sure why a rich county like MoCo defined "sanctuary" as protecting criminals. Welcoming to immigrants? Sure. But shielding people with DUIs, DV, and rape from deportation is completely outrageous.[/quote]

They may not call themselves a "sanctuary county," but their policies belie their denial of it.

Elrich said the new order also aims to improve community security by ensuring that immigrants and other vulnerable communities can engage with county departments without fear of being sent back to their country of origin.[/quote]
