I agree. Brand very much matters, and not just for your first job. There is a ridiculous level of elitism in law -- and not just in BigLaw, but also in the non-profit world. I'm almost 20 years out and I still see it.[/quote]

Brand does matter.  However, if you want to work in business as a lawyer, it's a boon.  It's been fantastic for my career.  I went to law school as an older student.  Practiced for a while then went into banking.  Few lawyers in banking on the business side.  If you want to stay in law, it can be tough.[/quote]
