Why do you say this?  Not clear to me why colleges would see a difference.  Also, for soccer at least, virtually all kids playing for their HS teams will also be playing club soccer.[/quote]

Because the OP stated the following:

The kid is going to TJ, he is looking to expand upon his College Application Resume, NOT getting a athletic scholarship.

I agree that either sport at the varsity level will be fine and show that he is "well rounded" on college applications. I don't think one sport really trumps the other in this regard. [/quote]
