Most of them left school to follow their friends and to appear cool. Had mt child been politically active during the campaign season and would have supported the losing candidate I would not have been upset. But to follow the leader in an excuse to get out of class is a different thing.
My DD is 17 years old! She couldn't vote but she was very active about this election this year. Doing the primary she showed me a lot of why she thought Bernie was going to be a great president. Therefore I voted for him. I was going to vote for Clinton but voted for her because I knew she was going to win but to make her happy. We both traveled to Virginia to help get out the vote for Hillary Clinton. She stayed home the day after the election because she wouldn't be able to focus. If her school does protest I will not ground her. She knows she will have to make up whatever she misses. She has a 3.4 gpa.
