Facial symmetry has long been associated with beauty although many people don't realize it:

You know who's face was found appealing in social research (during the 1980s) despite being asymmetrical?  Phylicia Rashad.  Why?  because people like her.  Yes, she's attractive, but her personality, talent and role as a good mom won over the classical beauties in the research.  People liked her and found her relateable.

Jane Alexander was told to get a nose job early in her career:

I think she's lovely, then and now.  Her nose gives her character and she recognizes her similarity to her grandfather.

I'm so tired of seeing the same nose everywhere these days.
