I think it really depends on exactly what we are talking about. Is starting to fool around some normal in 7th grade? Sure. I would say that having sex in 7th grade is the exception. On a rare occasion having a little alcohol or weed? Probably not wildly exceptional, but still not the norm. Significant alcohol or drug use? I would say that is pretty unusual at this age.
