I don't get it. First, you insist on sharing your every fart online. Then you bitch about people who choose to actively participate in your online lives. What gives? Do you want to picture and opinions exist out there unseen by anybody? LOL
Apparently, this is how boring people entertain themselves. For MIL, just tell her she has a standing invitation to all the kids' events, and make her understand that she needs to stop making the "not invited" comments. I have a MIL who in reality does not want anything to do with her grandkids, but goes around pretending, in her role of super martyr-waif-queen. Personally, I'm fine with whatever others want to do. Going to kids' boring events can get old even for parents. To keep MIL in the loop, for years I made sure to inform her of the kids' events with times and dates, and told her she was always welcome to come to any of them, if she felt like it. Guess what, she showed up once, seven years ago. And she's local. The kids are teens now, and she has long given up faking interest, never sees them or speaks to them, but still fakes it for her friends and the rest of her family. Apparently I'm blamed for "keeping the kids and her son from her." LOL. Ironically, I was the one who had always made the effort to bring everyone together. People are who they are.
