I love this thread. I am 5'5" but since DH is 6'5" and 14yo DS is already 6'1", we are sure DD is on track to be close to 6' (she just turned 10 and is just over 5' tall). So far she likes the attention and comments about her height, but my fear was that once she is in middle school it would become a negative. So this thread is great news. One question: for those that say they are tall with an thletic build, what does that mean? Can you give me a celebrity to illustrate what that looks like?
NP here, I'm 6'2" and wanted to give you a little advice for your son. Please encourage him to stand tall and not slump because he's so much taller than his friends. I've been taller than my peers my entire life. My dad is tall and my mom is 5'5". She taught me to be proud of who I am and stand tall. I'm a firm believer in doing the best with what you're given in your life... so stand up straight and own who you are! That can be hard in those awkward teen years when you tower over your friends. I often see tall women who slump there shoulders and mentally thank my mom every time.
