I'm not short (5'4" is average) but it's still frustrating. For the pant length problem, I suggest getting an inexpensive sewing machine and learn to hem clothes. It's very useful. I use mine mostly for fixing hems on my family's clothing, but for a short person it could be useful to alter clothing.[/quote]
