Clearly it was not the serving dish that [b]Marcy[/b] had in mind for her table.  But when you do things pot luck style you are going to wind up with a mish mash of serving dishes.  That's the way it goes. Unacceptable but unavoidable unless.....

If[b] Marcy[/b] had been thinking ahead she could have given them each a regulation sized casserole with lid for Christmas.  Maybe stuffed a proper serving spoon into their stocking and taped an acceptable recipe into their Christmas card.  Heck she could have just sent this year's Christmas gifts early and told them to open them one week before Thanksgiving.  That way they would all have the proper matching serving ware and recipes to use.
