Anyone know who Stanton Elementary School is named after? My googling has failed me and the school is not listed on the pdf list posted earlier.
https://www.nps.gov/places/fort-stanton.htm The neighborhood around the school is Ft. Stanton, named for one of DC's Civil War Forts (in the National Park Services Fort Circle Parks). That Ft. is named after Edwin M. Stanton, who was the Secretary of War during the Lincoln administration and for most of the Civil War. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edwin_Stanton https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Stanton_(Washington,_D.C.)
