Yes definitely. The new writers for the last seasons just had no idea what to do. The Luke's daughter storyline completely ruined his character, Lorelai and Christopher getting married was so stupid, etc. hopefully They will have Rory and Jess getting together again[/quote]

I think Luke having a daughter gave him more dimension.  I loved the scenes of him hanging out with April, discussing her friends at school and the latest gossip.  It was so fun to see that side of him.  I hated the fact that they made him want to postpone the wedding to Lorelai, just so he could get to know April (couldn't he get to know her AND be married), but I thought the general idea of him having a daughter was kind of cool.  It also showed what a great dad he would be if he and Lorelai ever did have kids.

Speaking of that, at the end of season 7 when he and Lorelai finally kiss and it's implied they get back together - is she still young enough to have kids?  My guess is she's about 38 by that point, so I suppose she is.  I hope they hurry up though!

I do completely agree with you about Lorelai and Christopher getting married - how ridiculous.  And I *really* hope Rory and Jess get back together.  I can see them living in a funky place in Philadelphia, him writing and her reporting/writing.  I always thought they were on the same wavelength.[/quote]
