OP here.. yeah, it's not as nefarious as some of you think. It was a one time thing as I was with her when I realized my timeline and she simply said, here order on Amazon, I can get it sent in 2 days. That was the extent of it. I don't "use" her account and I honestly, haven't ordered from Amazon except for batteries and a home intercom system last year (on my account). So yes, I learned a lesson and yes, she is really busy so to ask her to go out of her way to "fix" this is not right. It does annoy me that her neighbor used my money. I just have to let it go. And the item was recalled.. I didn't "not want it".. they sent a recall notice to return item. I may get my own Prime account.. but I don't really order from Amazon much. I do know if I did that, I would have just said "oops.. I'm so sorry... and quickly just replenished the gift card balance". Done in 5. But this friend and her neighbor won't do that out of just being busy and disorganized. I thought about using their credit card in system to buy my batteries for the exact amount each used of the gift card.. they probably wouldn't even notice... but that feels wrong. So live and learn. And I just paid her half of her Prime membership.
