They are highly trained and provide a service to the patient. You will be distracting them from their work if you try to pet them. Emotional support dogs are not trained. I believe they are just any pet that provides "emotional support" to the pt, so you can pet them (if the owner lets you). You will not be distracting them from their "work" if you do.[/quote]
