I was looking at way too many butts on the way home today and the worst I saw was some mild VPL. I am curious about these slip shorts, though. Any recommendation for a good pair that's comfy, moderately breathable, and not tight? I wear a half slip some days because it really does make me look better, but other days it's just too hot so I don't.
There are lots of products out there that are just shorts for wearing under dresses. You can get them tight like bike shorts (easiest / cheapest is to get some oversized shapewear, IMO) or loose (usually sold as pettipants or culottes, and can be found in cotton). I wear these under casual dresses when I am going to be active don't want to flash anyone. However, they don't prevent your dress from bunching between your legs when you walk, which a half-slip does and which I care about in the office. And half-slips don't prevent chub rub on the thighs in the summer. Combination half-slips / shorts exist but are hard to find. Commando and Spanx are the only two brands I've found. The version I wear is actually no longer made by Spanx but found on Amazon still, and it is a slip only in the front; just shorts in the back. It's called the Skinny Britches Skort. I would prefer the slip panel go all the way around, but this version was much cheaper and came in larger sizes so I didn't have to actually be "shaped" by the shapewear.
Problem with those is that you basically still see a woman's silhouette in great detail. I'm not the most modest person. I wear tank tops with bra straps showing, go braless sometimes, wear tight pants and short skirts, but I would never leave the house in something transparent. And sadly, so many women think their clothes are opaque when they are not.
The shorts, that is.
