I don't own a pit bull BUT I have been around pit bulls and the owners that I have associated with have all been exceptionally careful to train and develop good manners in their dogs.  They love their dogs and I feel for them having to live with the "dangerous dog" stigma.

I do not think it's o.k. to send young kids out on a walk with a dog that they can not control.  But if they have a calm well mannered dog walking on a leash beside them and YOUR dog chooses to run up to those kids and jump on them and their dog...that's on you.[/quote]

Most pit bulls who kill are mild mannered family dogs who shocked the hell out of their owners when they snapped. Then their owners are devastated as well as the victims' families. Do you not read the news?[/quote]

No.  People like to say that but a dog that attacks a person like that had plenty of warning signs and they likely had some traumatic interaction with humans beforehand.  Beloved, well cared for, typically trained family pets do not attack people out of the blue.[/quote]
