Aidah looks like someone misspelled Aida (pronounced eye-EE-duh). And it is not a made up name. The opera by Guiseppe Verdi (one of the most well-known opera authors in history) is from 1871 and is what the Elton John musical from 2000 was based on. Prior to the opera, the name was a traditional Arabic name, so the name has been around for centuries. OP, if you use the spelling Aidah, I guarantee that most people will think you mean /eye-EE-duh/ and not /AY-duh/.[/quote]
