there are plenty of more reasonably priced school districts that have better high schools than Edison and are more affordable than McLean.   Lake Braddock district, South Lakes and Oakton spring to mind.  [/quote]

Then why not DC? There are some really fantastic educators and good schools in the city you know.

And in some ways they are far better than any McLean school due to the cultural diversity available in the city.  Focus on the importan things for your child.[/quote]

McLean HS is over 40% non-white and even among the white population there are many different cultures.  It is actually quite diverse.  Most of the public schools in DC are not as diverse.  [/quote]
