You really think you know it all, don't you? Just like "many kids love all day camp", many kids also don't love it. I have offered opportunities to my son for different camps and he doesn't even want to hear it. I finally found one that is a week long for a half day that he's going to try out this year. Maybe then he will open his mind up to trying more (assuming he has a fun time).

Not all kids want to go to camp. My sons friends that do go tell him he's lucky because he doesn't have to go. And these kids are going to the "fun" camps. The moms also aren't thrilled about it, but they don't have a choice. Yes, the camps are more fun than school, but not as fun as being home and spending time with family and friends.

+1 I totally agree. Quite a few boys and also girls might be on the introverted side and not love camp as much as chilling at home and doing their own thing. 
It's overkill many times. If working parents have to do it for such a long time but it is insulting to say kids like it better than hanging out with their parents.
