I sense that some of the Hillary supporters are worried that Bernie Sanders may have some effect on the Democratic Party platform. Is this the real problem? I just don't get the vitriol for BS at this point in the campaign?? It makes no sense. No, I have no problem with his platform. In fact, I like it. I have a problem with the way he and his campaign have behaved lately (see prior post) [Report Post]
You mean behaving like he might win? Like he's still running? This is sort of to be expected, don't you think?
No. When your plan is to sway superdelegates to win if you didn't win the popular vote. When you imply the votes of the people in the South do not matter. When you fuck up and access info you were not supposed to have and then turn around and play the victim. When you insinuate that black people do not know what's good for them. There's a lot of tone deafness in that campaign. And while you may not have a problem with all that, believe me, there are plenty of people who do.
This is really getting out of hand. Swaying super delegates is part of the primary race. I've seen nor heard anything he's said that would even imply that he thinks "black people do not know what's good for them." Black voters in southern states overwhelmingly support Clinton, as has been pointed out as nauseum right here in this forum. Ditto for progressivism in western states. Sanders and every one of his supporters have known from the get-go that he was and is a long shot. If he were really an ego maniacal opportunist, he would have run third party, only to ensure a loss for himself AND the Democrats. Democrats with whom he's caucused for more than two decades. The reason you run with as long a shot as his is to appeal to a broader coalition of voters and influence the party platform. Would Clinton support Sanders? Who knows? Will she support at least some of his vision? Again who knows? But there's nothing anti-Demoratic, or in any way exclusionary, in anything he's said or done. Your candidate is going to win the nomination. To win the general, she'll need the enthusiasm that's keeping Sanders' campaign alive. Just let it wor itself out. The anger (and the name calling!) is churlish, tiresome and counterproductive.
