So can anyone confirm calls were actually made today?
Well, I didn't get one, so they must not have!
There were 850+ applicants for 20-25 seats after the 40 confirmed siblings were admitted. How many seats in pk3 versus pk4? Didn't say. They just randomized the list and put it on the screen. #3 on the pk3 list celebrated and was hugged, as did #12 on the pk4 list so I hope they eventually get a call or email. They applied for an enrollment increase, and if approved, will have 40-50 more seats. At which campus? She wouldn't say. So who got in? We don't know yet. But the order is set. It was a questionable process.
If there were only 40 siblings, there should be a lot more initial pk3/pk4 slots. 6 classes of 30 right now (a third of which are K age). This would mean 80 or so no-sibling spots.
Except that a lot of the pk3 kids who are there now will move up to pk4, so there will only be a few new pk4s admitted to compensate for attrition. Your figure of 80 assumes that all pk4 would come in new. In reality if there are 40 siblings there would be around 30 new spots, unless they open up a new class.
Yes! I knew my math was off somewhere. Duh -- rising PK4s. Apologies. And good luck to all!!!
Right, that is the questionable part. If there are 20-25 total spots, but no distinction is made between pk3 and Pk4 results (when there is distinction between pk3 and pk4 applicant pools) it is questionable that #12 on the Pk4 list would get a congratulatory hug because that means even distribution when one would assume more pk3 acceptances for those non-sibling 20-25 spots.
