I go to YY close to CM from Truxton Circle, up 1St NW to R St NW to N. Cap.  Takes about 15 minutes given traffic.  After parking and walking kid into school and drive back home takes about an hour but I go back down 1St NW from Rhode Island.  I would estimate about an hour drive round trip to CM.  It's mostly the traffic back downtown that is a PITA.

I commute via North Capitol - it's not great but not necessarily a deal breaker. Since I do a similar commute every day (Petworth-ITS-Union Station), my guess it 10-15 min to CMI from your house in the morning and 20-25 min to work after. It would be way better if you got in to MV, but not unworkable IMO. [/quote]
