Better always means higher SES parents. That is all.
Better means better drugs, better house patties, better rehabs
You can make all the stupid comments you would like ut it will not change the facts that the overall experience at Whitman including sports, academics, social, etc. Talk to graduates from both school over the past two decades and you will understand.
Sports?
I am an RM IB graduate from just under two decades ago. I need to decide on a school district for my own kids, so right now I am also facing the RM vs W school decision. I find it hard to believe that Whitman has better extracurriculars or academics for this reason: The lit mag, newspaper, It's Academic, mock trial, etc. all depend on the students in them--and there were any number of brilliant people in my IB class. I just don't see how you can get a comparable collection of students without having a magnet and drawing talent from around the county. Even at Whitman. I could be wrong; I would be interested in hearing whether that is the case. When comparing Whitman vs. RM overall I'm sure Whitman wins in every respect, but when comparing Whitman vs. IB (and really, IB is a school within a school) I'd think IB would be much nicer.
